Style Tips: What to Wear in August
Towards August, I start to look at my summer clothes and think, “what do I wear”, especially when it’s 85 degrees with 70 percent humidity. I find myself in the same position as each season winds down, when I am so sick of the same things in my closet! Here are some styling tips on how to dress for hot weather, while infusing some new life into your summer wardrobe.
Use fall inspired colors to incorporate into your closet.
For example, add in a few less expensive items that can pair back to your favorite summer clothes. Brown is a great color to pair with white, so adding in a brown tank can freshen up the white linen pants you have been wearing all summer.
2. Pull out fall shoes.
Look to your fall shoe selection to pair back to summer items. For example, a pair of knee high cowboy inspired boots can work great with a white dress or skirt for an on trend, stylish look. I have also been a fan of wearing boots with longer denim shorts this summer.
3. Update accessories for the new season ahead.
Start incorporating jewelry and bags that say fall. For example, pull out your dark brown suede tote (or start a hunt for a new one for fall!). Or, use darker necklaces and earrings and wear with a white dress to create a more moody look that speaks fall.
